Womenspeak: A session by Geetanjali Singh Chanda

The Genpact Center for Women’s’ Leadership (GCWL) is organising its first session of ‘Womenspeak’ – an interactive platform facilitated by leaders and experts to discuss stories, experiences and concerns which are central to women’s leadership.

The first ‘Womenspeak’ session will discuss advertisements targeting women with specific agendas. Participate in an exciting discussion on the nature and impact of advertisements that “work” towards normalizing social and cultural issues pertaining to women.

 About the Speaker

1434963346e63fc4_379a4fa43f6344d4b3736990a9c5ef00.png_srz_381_354_85_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_png_srz.pngGeetanjali Singh Chanda is a senior lecturer in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Yale University, where she has taught courses on globalization, autobiographies, family, cultural identity, popular culture, international feminisms and postcolonial India since 2001.

Professsor Chanda received her PhD in English Literature from Hong Kong University, where she also taught courses in the Programme in American Studies. She received her Master’s degree from George Washington University and taught at Gettysburg College. She has spoken at international fora and published widely on notions of home, family, and gender in Indian English literature in US and international publications. Her research interests include popular culture and feminist and transcultural pedagogy, masculinities and religion. Read more.
